Research and Teaching

....before coming to Queensland University of Technology, where I teach in the School of Human Movement Studies and conduct research in the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation.

and my master's degree in Ergonomics and Physical Education was from the University of California, Santa Barbara....

...I studied for my PhD in Physical Education (Minor in Human Factors) at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

My undergraduate degree was in Physical Education and Social Adminstration at the University of Birmingham,

....after which I had a research position in the Department of Human Biology and Health at the University of Surrey, UK.

After a period assisting my wife in Yuendumu, Northern Territory with her study of traditional Aboriginal games and pastimes, which included some teaching at what is now the University of Canberra.....

I then joined the faculty of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.....

I study and teach in human motor control and learning, movement disorders, and ergonomics.  Recent interests have included the ageing worker, visuomotor adaptation, driving in Parkinson's disease, and the real-time remote monitoring of activity and ECG for rehabilitation.  Selected e-prints here.
